Low Hum have found a global audience on YouTube and Spotify, with 10s of millions of organic streams among music fanatics on message boards and social media. A phenomenon that caught Desha off guard as his YouTube subscribers and streams increased exponentially in the months that followed debut album Room To Breathe’s release. “I first started to see videos that transcribed a few of my songs in Spanish and I was humbled by it,” says Desha. “Eventually it started to reach India, South Korea, Australia, Brazil… I was so impressed by the positivity in the comment section between everyone I became ecstatic my music was the thing bringing this little online community together.”

Nonfiction, was recorded and co-produced with Jon Joseph, and expands upon Desha’s kaleidoscopic Lo-fi meets Hi-fi futurism: a mixture of oceanic tranquility, dreampop-like sensibilities, heavy fuzzed-out riffs juxtaposed alongside melodious synth and vocals with refreshing punch. Low Hum, Desha says “was always meant to be my creative refuge, a place for me to escape my own reality and give me a sense of freedom” and is happy it has motivated those who listen “to feel a sense of community and that we are all in this together.”

Keys N Krates shares “Pull Up” featuring Haviah Mighty

Keys N Krates shares “Pull Up” featuring Haviah Mighty

Today, Toronto trio Keys N Krates shares “Pull Up” featuring fellow Canadian and Polaris Prize-winning artist Haviah Mighty. The fourth single from their upcoming album Original Classic, available everywhere on November 12th, “Pull Up” follows the Juicy J, Chip and Marbl-featuring “Original Classic” as well as this summer’s “Brazillian Love Song,” which was recently announced as part of the FIFA 22 soundtrack and the Bibi Bourelly collaboration “Take It Off.”

Speaking on the latest single, the band stated: “We were channel-ing everything from baile funk and Miami bass, to Missy Elliot with this one. We were already in touch with Haviah at the time before making this. When we came up with the initial ‘Pull Up’ demo, we knew she would be perfect on it, and we knew it would be perfect to show how special she is as an artist.”

Addressing her own contribution to the track, Haviah shares “The production on this track fueled the mood and energy of my lyrics. I just caught a vibe and rode the instrumentation; which makes me feel like I’m in the grimiest, dirtiest, best underground basement jam! It feels like a night of haze and liquor with the perfect soundtrack. I’m confident and I’m feeling myself. This song is the confident lion with a freshly tamed mane, walking into the function. It is the sexy, the cool, grungy and dirty, but also, it’s sooo clean!”

“Pull Up” also arrives on the heels of the Original Classic Tour announcement. The 18-day headlining tour, which will feature DJ sets from the group, kicks off on November 17th in Washington D.C. and includes stops in Detroit, Chicago, NYC and more. Tickets on sale here.
