As anticipation builds for their sophomore album Celebrator, LA indie rock quartet Dear Boy deliver the collection's final single with "The Address," arriving September 19th ahead of the full album's October 17th release via Last Gang Records (pre-order here).

Reuniting once again with producer Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma, Been Stellar, Snail Mail), "The Address" finds Dear Boy operating at peak creative power. The track seamlessly balances nostalgic influences with forward-thinking songcraft, built on a guitar-driven foundation that perfectly complements Ben Grey's compelling vocal delivery and incisive lyricism. From its opening Happy Mondays-esque drum groove, the dynamic rhythm section of Keith Cooper (drums) and Lucy Lawrence (bass, vocals) provides the propulsive energy that makes this their most immediately captivating release to date.

"The Address" rewards both casual listeners and deep-dive explorers – hooky enough for instant connection, yet layered enough to reveal new details with each encounter. The song exemplifies Dear Boy's remarkable ability to channel the golden era of British alternative rock while infusing it with their distinctive West Coast sensibility. There's an effortless quality to their approach, creating something that feels both comfortingly familiar and entirely fresh.

Quoted on the new single, Ben from Dear Boy states:

"The Address is about waiting to fall in love with your own life. Sometimes the good things are all there in front of your face, but you just can’t get them to look back at you."

The single demonstrates Dear Boy's transformation from promising newcomers to a band poised for broader recognition. Following the success of their 2022 debut Forever Sometimes, the quartet made a conscious decision to embrace creative spontaneity over perfectionist production methods with their second offering.

Celebrator emerged from this new philosophy – written across just twelve focused sessions and recorded live in under two weeks. The result is an album that pulses with authentic energy and showcases the undeniable chemistry between all four members. Their sophomore effort promises to be "melodic, moving, and unpredictable"—an album that sounds like discovering "a completely new sound. Songs from another lifetime. Confetti in every measure."

Representing a significant artistic leap for Dear Boy, the album explores universal themes through the band's unique perspective – memory, human connection, and the process of moving forward. It's a collection designed for both intimate listening moments and collective celebration, with songs that translate equally well through headphones and in packed venues.

The band's creative philosophy remains refreshingly direct and heartfelt. "We made this album to remember why we do this in the first place," explains Dear Boy. "Because we love it. We adore each other. Joy. Connection. Heartbreak. Celebration. We're not interested in anything other than that."

A triumph in LA's underground music scene, Dear Boy was formed by lead vocalist Ben Grey and drummer Keith Cooper, while they were residing in London in their mid-twenties. Austin Hayman (lead guitar) and Lucy Lawrence (bass, vocals), joined once the band returned home, the four have set out to establish something thoughtfully informed and completely fresh. Despite the band's American roots, Dear Boy has always drawn deeply from the music of '80s and '90s Britpop and shoegaze, citing influences from Pulp and Oasis to Slowdive and Jesus and Mary Chain, while equally embracing American alternative titans like Pixies and R.E.M.

With "The Address," Dear Boy prove they're ready to transition from LA underground favourites to a band with genuine mainstream appeal, delivering their sharpest songwriting and most confident performance to date.

"The Address" will be available on all streaming platforms September 19th, whilst their sophomore album Celebrator will be available October 17th.
